BP Aerodrome

Project Details

This was one our more challenging projects from start to finish with multiple moving parts due to a complete site overhaul along side the new power upgrade.

  • Additional management and supervision needed due to the short time frame we had to get from plant landing to connection day.
  • Supply chain delays with specialist parts that were crucial to our clients dead lines.
  • Out of hours planning for a connection that had to coincide with power loss to other surrounding businesses.

From day one this project threw challenges at us, but with our dedicated team and resources we were able to keep things on track.

Our Solution

The biggest challenge for this installation was getting the High voltage connection right for the DNO. Reducing cable sizes in a restricted work area and a shut down that had limited out of hours time off due to it effecting other businesses and planned maintenance.

  • Our working Jointer/Supervisor was crucial to highlighting missing specialist components and materials from our suppliers. Luckily we keep a varied stock of equipment which allowed us to replace and keep the build on track.
  • Dead lines with the meter installation and point of connection were kept on track due to our dedicated jointing and engineering teams who are always willing to go the extra mile.
  • We had to work closely with the principle contractor to ensure all civils works were kept to the DNO regulations, a few minor changes had to made to metering and sub bases to allow safe access for work and plant landing.

Regardless of time constraints and the day to day pressure of hitting POC dates our teams maintain one key principal which is “Do it once do it right” our quality of work and client relationship will always be of the highest standard.
