Project Details

Tilbury docks was our clients first 33kv installation.

• Initial site set up and utility supplies.
• Specialist civils to deal with contaminated soil.
• Installation of four 2500KVA Package TX’s and a new bespoke built 5 panel switch board.

Our client was new to 33kv installations. But through meticulous planning, communication and the right specialist work force we provided, we were able to keep energisation dates on track.

The site also had multiple Low voltage cables and plant that had to be diverted whilst minimising loss of supplies to the surrounding business’.

We had a time line of just over 8 months start to finish for all works.

Our Solution

WJ put together a specialist team from SAP’s, Cable jointers, protection engineers, Electricians, Cable pulling gangs, Civils teams and supervisors.

• From the ground up this site required all builds to be completely bespoke. From earth nests, Termination points, Cable supports, Protection settings,
• Multiple 33kv Terminations completed to different specs due to manufacturer needs all covered by our highly trained Jointers.
• Our engineers provided expert advice on all aspects of Electrical safety rules and maintenance needs for the longevity of this project once completed.

The main supply was controlled by the local onsite DNO whom we forged a good working relationship with, this was key for our clients onsite responsibilities and allowed them to concentrate on the project in hand.
